Little grey Fergie
Long story short, we bought a house in Ireland, a house with a bit of land and a barn/shed a little bigger than the house. A nice well-built, waterproof bard, perfect for the budding car collector. There’s lots of work to do before I start filling it, legalities and shipping etc, but whilst visiting to move along the paperwork I got to thinking. The plan is to spend the summers there avoiding much of the Dubai heat. Obviously, I’d want a project or two to while away the hours, but what to get as I wouldn’t be there often to really work on a project. Then it struck me, what about a fun classic tractor project…

As luck would have it, on a search across Ireland the perfect tractor popped up just a few miles away in Claregalway – a little grey Fergie – formally known as the Ferguson TE-20, this one being a TVO model, a nod to economy that starts of petrol then shifts to a Kerosene mix. Resplendent in the origina grey, I was lucky enough to have an ‘expert’ kindly look at it and gave me the nod – an awesome brother-in-law did the deal in my absence and between him and the expert it is now in my the shed and has already been joined by a restored load-box. Oh and it came with an original vintage trailer too, great for getting the family to and from the pub.

I can’t wait to play when I get over there this summer – no I have never driven one before and no, I don’t really have a use for it, but it’s a vintage tractor…
