Modern Stuff, Majella’s daily
I said all change, we changed Majella’s car too. Since the Cayenne Turbos and the Escalade, she’d wanted a more rugged car. I can’t remember if I’ve posted on it, but she got an awesome Toyota FJ Cruiser – an extreme model with the wider arches, this was the Arctic Trucks model, further breather on, raised and widened. Her perspective was it was great for the school run and you didn’t mind people opening their doors onto it etc… you’d always come off best.

Over the few years we had it we put bigger wheels and tyres on it, tougher sidesteps, roof rack, bull bar, the usual mods. It’s an awesome car, and for sale soon! However she was increasingly carrying Mylo’s friends, so the rear half doors were becoming a pain.
So what do you change too when you wants a rugged car? We looked at a Grenadier but weren’t convinced. We took out an old school defender, which reminded us of the term agricultural. We then settled on a less rugged Nissan Patrol Nismo as she fell in love with a friends. However, on the road to that purchased, that morning we had an epiphany and by the afternoon she was the proud owner of a Mercedes G63 AMG Design 463 – the preferred old shape and a beast with over 570hp perfect for the school run. Day 2 saw the windows tinted and a larger Apple Carplay screen added, it is now off for a tyre balance to sort a small shake – but then its playtime.
It’s a car I will be more than happy to borrow, a proper Dubai car and one I’d always wanted, but okay it is hers.
