Comings and goings, updates

The Jensen SRT is 99.9% done. Steering and cutting out finally sorted I decided the SRT seats were just too big, especially given the dashboard is moved forward so leg room is reduced. I went for some Corvette C6 seats, lower and with narrower back they fit the bill. Of course the orange was an issue, so I had the whole interior done in black leather and Alcantara, a great job by Colin and his team. Just a new stereo to wire in and that 99.9% becomes 100%.

The Stroker Jensen arrived from the US last year – a painful lack of progress got to frustration and to be honest was taking the piss. I shipped the stripped car and a crate of bits, with the engine and trans badly stabbed in last year. Snce then we started the job properly – body first. Some major horror stories and lots of work required, but we now have a straight body waiting for paint. We are now on to a proper engine fit, all the ancilliairies and brackets are fab’d and we are finally seeing some real progress.

The TVR – not much to do here – speedo fixed a while back, I had some Hi-Spec big brakes added and a new AC compressor with an update to R134a.  It all works a treat, I’ve put it up for sale a couple of times, but then pulled it after a few weeks.

A couple of cars have come and gone – An Alfa Romeo Brera – a special Autodelta one with a supercharger. I bought it as a daily, had the paintwork redone to freshen it up, but like a few others, it didn’t light my fire and the Raptor remain the daily, so I sold it within six months.

Sometime later was an awesome Dodge Ram SRT-10, the one with the 8.2l Viper engine and six speed manual. I thought it would take over from the Raptor, but a single cab with a fixed bed-lid just didn’t cut it. So that went within about six months too.
