Jensen SRT out and about
Forgive me, for it has been one month since my last submission…
So much has been happening, so let’s start with the Jensen SRT8. Tested, passed and on the road.
It passed on a Thursday but I didn’t get a chance to pick it up, so AAA kindly parked it outside the Al Quoz branch with the keys and I picked it up on the Friday to take it to the regular monthly JACCK meet at Café Rider. Okay they warned me the AC was playing up and intermittent, but it wasn’t far so I took it anyway.
It was hot… and handled terribly. All over the road, alignment off and wheel at 10 o’clock, but it was fun.
I literally took it half a mile or so, showed it off then droppedit back for alignment etc.
But it was fun and it was legal 🙂
Roll forward another week and a proper run, it handled better, and laid down some nice ‘11’s’ but it did highlight some holes in the firewall and made for some very hot legs.
We are working on that and also the rear suspension, its too soft and squats on launch and ground on bumps – but the suspension is pure Chrysler 300C, so a Pedder polybush kit should sort that and we’ve already blocked the holes and t-pieced some AC into the footwell.
It’s almost a daily driver – especially after some very expensive sound proofing. Next onto getting the windows working and fitting that bushing kit. Also the boys have a nifty solution to lower/firm it up…
Oh, and I got a small plate for the front.
I love it 🙂
